On October 27th, 2011 final approval was granted for a $1.25 billion settlement in regards to the "Black Farmers case." This is a decades old lawsuit, and paves the way for those affected to seek compensation for being left out of USDA farm aid programs.

Originally, "Pigford v. Glickman" was a class action lawsuit against the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA), alleging racial discrimination in its allocation of farm loans and assistance between 1983 and 1997. The lawsuit ended with a settlement in 1999. To date, almost $1 billion has been paid or credited to the farmers under the settlement's terms.

Thousands of African-American farmers have been compensated from the original 1999 ruling. However, there are thousands of additional people affected that were denied because of claims filed past an arbitrary deadline.

RD Legal Funding, LLC ("RD Legal Funding") is uniquely positioned to help plaintiffs get immediate help. "This case has already been decades in the making. Farmers could be waiting many more years before they ever see a dime from this settlement. With our post-settlement funding services, plaintiffs can get compensated within weeks, not years," said Joe Genovesi, Senior Vice President of New Business Development.

The ending date to submit claims is May 11, 2012, with no claims being awarded until all are received and reviewed. This means a late 2012 date for settlement payments at the earliest, but likely much later. You can visit www.blackfarmercase.com for more information, or visit http://www.legalfunding.com/solutions/plaintiff_funding.cfm to apply for immediate compensation.

Founded by Roni Dersovitz in 1997, RD Legal Funding provides both plaintiffs and plaintiff's attorneys with innovative post-settlement funding cash flow solutions. Their proprietary fee acceleration program allows attorneys to convert their settled cases into immediate capital for growth. Over the past 14 years, RD Legal Funding has become one of the most reputable companies in the litigation financing space.

RD Legal Funding purchases legal receivables in a variety of areas, including class action, workers compensation, malpractice, product liability, and personal injury. The firm has offices in Cresskill, NJ and Riverside, CA.
